INVESTMENT DECISION IN PRIVATE ALUMINA

Eti Aluminum, which contributes to reducing the current account deficit by producing for strategic sectors with R&D and technology studies in Turkey, is making an important investment that will increase domestic production.

The company, which has started the production of special alumina used in strategic sectors, especially the defense industry, will put its new facility into operation in the third quarter of this year. With the 'Grind Alumina Unit' to be added to the aluminum production facility in Konya Seydişehir within the scope of the investment, special alumina, which is entirely imported in our country, will begin to be produced in Turkey for the first time. With the new investment, it is planned to reach an annual special alumina production capacity of 40 thousand tons. The Turkish market has a volume of 25 thousand tons in special alumina, which was developed entirely by Turkish engineers.
